(The problem with the HD Splash having disappeared after the 595 upgrade was that while the 590 firmware allows the 25kb HD splash to be displayed, it's too big with the 595 firmware - I reduced it to 10kb and it loads happily after following the instructions on the link above. That means that a custom splash screen CAN be loaded on the 590 or 595 if anyone wishes. Giusseppe, I have to thank you! Originally it shows the Harley Davidson logo, and after the upgrade, surprisingly NOT the Garmin splash screen, but a tine white square containing the words "GIR Low Mem". When I updated a Harley Davidson 590 to the Garmin 595 firmware (there is no HD version of the 595), the splash screen changed. However, since different Splash Screens DO exist (eg: BMW, Harley Davidson, Touratech have different splash screens from the standard Garmin one) if we knew where these were located, perhaps it would be possible to change them.

I'm sure that we're all aware that, unlike previous Zumo models, it's not officially possible to change the Splash Screen at startup. On a slightly different subject, but related to the 590 to 595 upgrade.
