As described in the guide I opened the installers of both MultiBeast and the Combo Update I first installed the Combo Update, did not reboot as it asked me to, directly afterwards installed MultiBeast with the relevant drivers selected, and only then rebooted. Then I went on to install the 10.6.8 update. So I got SL 10.6.3 from the retail DVD installed fine, it booted and all (though only 1024x768 resolution, stretched). Apple LED Cinema Display connected to GFX card DP port via DP->MDP adapter (don't have a VGA/DVI/HDMI monitor to plug in directly to the MB) Multiple SS/HD drives with one being dedicated just for the Hackintosh part

I'm trying to set up a hackintosh with 10.6.8 on it (no plans to "upgrade" to later versions after I got it running). Building a CustoMac Hackintosh: Buyer's Guide
